What is Grounded?

Grounded is a dating site for people who live in or love the countryside, across the UK and Ireland.

It exists because the mainstream apps are built for cities. If you live twenty miles from the nearest town, they show you a handful of profiles and start recycling them. And because everyone on them is answering a different question than you are, the shared ground you actually need has to be dug out one conversation at a time.

Here it is the starting point. Every member has already said something true about how they want to live, so you skip the part where you explain yourself.

Not a farm stereotype

There is a version of this idea that ends up as tractors, hay bales and gingham, and it is not us. Grounded is a modern dating brand that happens to understand the countryside exceptionally well, rather than a farming website that happens to offer dating.

That is why the site is for walkers and riders and growers and dog people as much as it is for farmers. The thing you share is a preference for outside.

Real people, and we mean it

Every photo and message is screened on upload. ID verification is free. Members carry a rating built from how they actually behave. We would rather have a smaller community of real people than a bigger one of anything else.

Grounded is operated by HubPeople, who have been running dating platforms for over twenty years, and we work to the standards of the Online Dating and Discovery Association.

Questions about Grounded

Who runs Grounded?

Grounded is operated by HubPeople, a dating platform business that has been running sites for over twenty years.

Where does Grounded operate?

The UK and Ireland are the core markets, with sites for the USA, Australia, New Zealand and Canada.

Do I have to live in the countryside?

No. Plenty of members live in a town or city and want a partner who would rather be out of it.

Is Grounded only for farmers?

No, and that distinction matters to us. Farmers are welcome and there are plenty here, but so are walkers, riders, growers, dog people, rural workers and anyone who simply feels better with space around them.
